Written by Michelle Gardner and directed by Jon Burroughs, PERFORMANCE is the 5th episode from season 2 of the 2nd season of Beverly Hills Bordello.

In this episode, we see that apparently unbeknownst to her escorts or her clients, Veronica (Gabriella Hall) has two-way mirrors installed in all the ladies’ rooms and occasionally observes them during their appointments with clients. She says it’s not only to monitor their performances but also it’s for security, this way she can make sure her employees are safe.

Denise Samson plays Zena, Gabriella’s most popular worker. Veronica watches her with her latest client, as Zena is with a man named Jeremy (Joe Gill). They’re in a luxurious bathroom, Jeremy is already sitting naked on a loveseat as Zena walks up to him in a robe, which she slips off to reveal her naked body. Then she hands Jeremy a shaving brush and razor, has him lather up her legs, and then shave them as she stands before him. Then she sits in his lap, first facing away from him and then turning around to face him, as they have sex.

Afterward, Veronica is in her office booking the next appointment for Zena, which is more than two weeks away as Veronica’s appointment book shows that Zena is booked for every single day until then. But in comparison, she looks under the name of another escort, Amanda, who only has one booked appointment.

Sage Kirkpatrick plays Amanda, and Veronica watches as Amanda has her appointment with Guy (Tony Lamachi). They’re on a bed having sex in the missionary position but Amanda looks clearly bored. Guy stops, asking her what’s wrong, but she assures him it’s nothing, she’s just tired, and so he leaves.

Veronica talks to Amanda in her office, discussing her recent performance, wondering if maybe Amanda’s no longer interested in sex work, but Amanda says that’s not it, but can’t explain her current lack of desire. So Veronica suggests that Amanda observe Zena in action, to maybe get some tips on how to better perform.

Zena has another appointment with Jeremy. This time they’re in a bedroom, where Zena is blindfolded and tied naked to a bedpost. Jeremy walks in with just pants and no shirt on. He fixes himself a drink, rubs the glass against Zena’s chest, then takes out an ice cube and rubs that against her nipples, and then they have sex on the bed in the missionary position, as Amanda secretly watches, while rubbing her own breasts and masturbating.

Later Amanda meets with Zena to have a conversation, which leads to them getting naked and Zena going down on Amanda. Then as they lay on a couch naked, they discuss sexual fantasies, and we get a fantasy sequence where Amanda has sex with Guy in a locker room. This re-ignites Amanda’s lust and we see her next appointment with Guy where they have sex for real, and this time they’re both into it.

The episode ends with Veronica going through her appointment book to see that Amanda is now booked every day for the rest of the week.

This episode is one of my favorites because of Sage Kirkpatrick, who was always amazing. Even in the sex scene where she’s looking bored, it’s still sexy. And also for Denise Samson, a gorgeous Asian woman who, sadly, only has two acting credits to her name, this and an earlier episode of Beverly Hills Bordello, in which she played a different character. She was very sexy, and I would have loved to have seen her in a lot more softcore TV shows and films.
