In the aftermath of issue #139, Raven is recovering from her attack by the cursed swordsman. She’s got little shards of class stuck in various parts of her body (including her big breasts, which are on full display), which she has her pet ravens pull out of her. Then she gets into her healing cauldron (completely naked, of course), as Tarot takes off after the swordsman.

Following his trail, Tarot finds a dragon witch (also naked, in her humanoid form), who tells her of her battles with the swordsman, which has left her near death. Using her magic, Tarot is able to keep the dragon witch alive, although she is still gravely injured, and then she continues her hunt. Eventually she catches up to him, just as she seems him apparently slay Thornwic, and she prepares to face the swordSman, vowing to kill him.

Meanwhile Raven manages to heal her cuts, but she’s still weak. Nevertheless, she’s too impatient to take the time to fully heal, so puts her demon dress back on, but knowing that the swordman defeated her demons before, she gets out a secret weapon that she believes will help her and Tarot win.

The subplot with Jon continues, as he faces the corpse-stealing costumed villain. And somehow he ends up in Hell, facing demon and Satan himself, trying to find a way to escape back to the land of the living. That story is quite confusing, I’m not sure what’s going on.

But as for the main story, I enjoyed it as I think most regular fans of the series will. Jim Balent is an master at drawing sexy women and crafting an enticing story of magic and horror.
