Written by Jackson Roykirk, and directed by Robert Meyer Burnett, this issue stars Ana Alexander, returning as Camille, a character she played in the debut episodes of this series, Behind Locked Doors Part 1 and Part 2. In those episodes, Camille was a prison inmate, serving a 20-year sentence after stabbing her abusive husband to death after he came home and caught her having sex with her neighbor, Rhonda. So this episode serves as a prequel and gives us a lot more information about those events.
Ana is home alone with Rhonda (Crystal Allen), who is sunning herself nude in Ana’s backyard. Rhonda finds her there and the two of them have sex.
That night, as they’re lying in bed, three strange figures sneak into her house. A woman named Molly (Jules Hartley), and two men named Robinson and Marvin (Justin Shelton and Paul Green), the latter of whom is armed with a shotgun. They say they’re looking for Camille’s husband Eddie, because he has something for them, and although Camille says she doesn’t know where he is, they insist that they’re going to wait for him, and it’s implied that things are going to be bad for Camille if Eddie doesn’t show up.
Camille manages to conceal the fact that Rhonda is upstairs, But this is a tense standoff, especially as Marvin becomes increasingly threatening toward Camille. Eventually while in the bathroom together, Molly confesses to Camille that she’s actually an undercover police officer. Eddie works for the Department of Homeland Security and was planning to sell some classified documents to Robinson and Marvin who will then sell them to terrorists, so she’s trying to arrest them all, but she needs the deal to go down. She promises to protect Camille but she has to tell her where Eddie is. But Camille still swears she doesn’t know.
Eventually, Camille manages to get away outside, but Marvin chases her, and just as he corners her and is about to shoot her, Molly shoots him, but then Rhonda shows up and shoots her from behind. Knowing that Rhonda just killed a cop, she tells her to get away and hide out a motel, and that she’ll join her later so they can run away together. Camille goes back into the house and tells Robinson she’ll take him to Eddie, and she leads him to a room where she stored Eddie’s dead body. She takes advantage of Robinson’s surprise to stab him to death too. Then some Federal agents show up, the lead of which is host Tanit Phoenix, who say they’ve been monitoring the house and they arrest Camille for killing Eddie. As she’s taken away we see Rhonda alone in the hotel waiting for her.
This was a pretty good episode as a story, the cast were all excellent in the roles. It could have used a little more sex, other than the one lesbian scene, but it was satisfying. Some of the suspense was already killed due to the fact that I knew in advance that Eddie was dead and that Camille would survive this ordeal to end up in jail. And the continuity is a little off since Camille made no mention in the previous episode of killing Robinson, but I guess that was clear self-defense, which is why she was only tried and sentenced for the murder of Eddie.
This is a good episode that stands on its own, but the connection to the earlier episodes makes it even more interesting. Chacebook rating: FOUR STARS
