LINGERIE season 1, episode 12: Runway Ready

Written by Anthony L. Greene and directed by Christopher Ware Smets, this episode opens with Jason and Vanessa having sex, which seems confusing at first since the two of them agreed to stop seeing each other back in episode 9. But then in the middle of it Jason disappears and it’s Vanessa having sex with Lacey, which is a hot scene but it’s now obvious that this is just a dream. But whose dream is it?

It’s Vanessa’s dream, as she wakes up confused, it’s the middle of the night. Then she pulls out the script for the play she got cast for back in episode 10, and starts rehearsing her lines as she goes out to the kitchen to get a drink. Vanessa is sitting on the couch having a drink herself, and the two women finally talk about Jason, with Vanessa promising it’s over between them. It’s a little weird as the two women make a big deal about how much their friendship means to each of them, and they agree that they don’t want this to end it. But, as I’ve noted in previous reviews, these women have mostly barely interacted since Vanessa arrived, there’s nothing to indicate that they were so close. But whatever.

At lunch, Marilyn gives Lacey the big check that Jason gave her in the previous episode, saying it’s from some anonymous donor. The money is enough to put on a fashion show, which Lacey has 10 days to arrange. Lacey gets Vanessa, Marilyn, and Cody to practice modeling for her, as Stephanie and Jeffery help her get things ready. As they’re leaving for the day, Cody walks Stephanie back to her place, as he’s helping carry some stuff for her, and asks her if she wants to get drinks, but she says she’s meeting Doug, the modeling agent for dinner. Cody leaves disappointed, and when she gets inside, Stephanie looks as if she’s having second thoughts, and she goes back out the front door but Cody’s already gone.

Russ and Maddy have sex in the living room of Russ’ apartment, and Cody comes home just as they’re finished. As Maddy rushes into the bedroom to get dressed, Cody complains to Russ about it, and they have a little argument about boundaries, but Russ accuses Cody of being jealous of him being in a happy relationship when he struck out with Stephanie.

Later Cody talks to Stephanie about it and her admits that he wants to be in a relationship with her, and they have sex. So at least the subplot is finally resolved, even if it was obvious from the first time they had sex that they would eventually end up together, just like it’s obvious that Lacey will end up with Jason, probably after she finds out that he’s the one who sent her the check.

So I’ll give this episode a Chacebook rating of FOUR STARS, although with only one episode left in the season, I’m still feeling a bit ambiguous about it.
