Written by Anthony L. Greene, D.B. Brooks & Karen O’Hara and directed by Julie Jordan.
Daniel D. Anderson stars in this episode as Bo, a plumber Ryan (Glen Meadows) hires to fix his showerhead. In a conversation, Bo reveals that he is single and has had no luck with women ever since his ex-wife Patty left him for another man.
In a flashback, we see him and Patty (Janet Tracy Keijser) having sex on their kitchen floor. Bo, who dresses rather sloppily, says Patty left him because she wanted a man with more “style,” but he’s just a regular blue-collar guy who doesn’t know how to do that. So Ryan brings him to Olivia and Cooper (Amy Lindsay and Tiffany Hendra) to get them to find him a date.
Cooper gives Bo a makeover, which basically consists of some decent clothes, and the ladies plan to set him up with Andrea Johnson (Kehli O’Byrne), the soap opera actress whom Ryan went out with before. Bo picks up Andrea and takes her to a restaurant for dinner, where they run into Patty, who is there with another man. Patty immediately recognizes Andrea because she’s a big fan of hers, so Bo kisses Andrea to show off in front of Patty, but Andrea doesn’t seem to mind it.
After dinner, Bo and Andrea go back to her place, and they have sex while standing up against her front door in a pretty hot scene. We don’t get a formal “ending” to the plot, but I guess it’s assumed that they are a couple now.
The second plot of this episode is about Cooper and Ryan. We see them arriving back at Ryan’s place, a bit drunk, after the date that they went on at the end of the previous episode. They wake up the following day in bed together, and Cooper convinces Ryan that this was a mistake because their lifestyles aren’t compatible and that they should not tell Olivia about it. Ryan agrees with some reluctance.
Later, Olivia convinces Ryan to let her give him a makeover, which includes new clothes and a better haircut, to help him get Cooper to give him a chance. The episode ends with Cooper going to Ryan’s place afterward to get her cell phone, which she left there. She’s impressed with his new appearance, and then, after finding out from Ryan that they didn’t actually have sex before like she assumed they did (she was ready to do it, but he turned her down because she was too drunk and he didn’t want their first time to be under those circumstances), she finally gives into him and they do have sex.
I’m thankful that this show didn’t drag out the will they/won’t they storyline for these two much longer, as it’s a cliche trope of TV show. And it was obvious from their interaction in the 4th episode that this is where it was heading.
In addition to the sex scenes I mentioned, there was one where Amy fantasized about having sex in her office with her dead husband, Vince (Hoyt Richards), and a scene where Andrea is have a femdom session with some dude (Butch Klein) where she gets topless but they don’t have sex.
This is a good episode that drives the regular characters’ story arcs forward; I enjoyed it. Chacebook rating; FOUR STARS
