Written by D.B. Brooks, Anthony L. Greene, and Windsor Goodman, and directed by Julie Jordan, this is the final episode of season one of Black Tie Nights.
This episode picks up “a few weeks” after the events of the previous episode. Ryan (Glen Meadows) had quit the Black Tie Agency, and Cooper (Tiffany Hendra) hasn’t talked to him since, as she says he’s ignored her dozens of phone calls and is never home when she goes over to his place. She and Olivia (Amy Lindsay) have been struggling to run the agency without him because he was the one mostly handling the phone calls and appointments. So Olivia decides to rehire Gladys, the horny older woman whom they’d hired and then fired for sexually harassing a customer back in episode 2.
Olivia then mentions that she knows where Ryan’s working now; he’s managing a Chicken restaurant in the city because they called her for a reference when he applied. Now that Cooper knows where he is, she tracks him down and eventually manages to get him to listen to her explanation about what really happened with his ex, and he forgives her. They then have hot sex in the restaurant’s kitchen.
Jumping ahead to the end, Ryan agrees to come back to the agency, so they fire Gladys, having caught her working as a phone sex operator out of the office. And alls well that ends well. But also, before we get to that part, there are two other stories to complete.
Beverly Lynne returns as Candi Hicks, who was hired by Cooper back in the very first episode, as a decoy to help set up a client with another woman. Cooper had promised Candi a free match for herself in exchange, and Candi is ready to collect. She’s looking for a guy who will indulge her wild side, doing things like going bungee jumping with her and going with her to get her nipples pierced. Olivia interviews a man named Lewis (Spencer Wilson), a shy and quiet accountant who’s looking for a woman who likes to do things like watch old Marx Brothers movies and go ballroom dancing. Thanks to a mix-up by Gladys, Candi and Lewis are matched with each other.
Candi and Lewis’ date predictably doesn’t go well, due to them being complete opposites. Candi tries to make the most of it and has a cheerful attitude, but Lewis is turned off almost immediately. When Lewis’ car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, Candi flashes her tits to an passing car, hoping to get a ride, but the driver (Kenny Smith) is a cop who arrests them for indecent exposure. He eventually lets them out, but it’s late, and Lewis’s car has been impounded, so they walk to a nearby motel, where they get a room together. Of course, there’s only one bed, where they end up having sex. So it turned out to be a good date after all.
The biggest surprise is Olivia’s story. She meets Charley (Drake Darado) in a park for a picnic. She makes it clear that she’s still not ready for the serious relationship that she knows he wants. That doesn’t stop her from having sex with him on a blanket (yep, right out in public, but I guess the park was empty). But when talking to Cooper and Ryan later, Olivia says she and Charely are still not together, as she’s not interested in a relationship. She’s ready to start dating again but wants to play the field. Cooper remarks that Olivia now sounds like “the old me.”
At first, I was surprised that the writer didn’t go for the expected ending of Olivia committing to Charley, but I guess it makes sense that after her long mourning period for her Late husband, she should want to explore her options for a while. At least Cooper and Ryan got their happy ending.
In addition to the three sex scenes I mentioned, there’s one between Glen Meadows and Ashley Fires, an adult film star who plays Pam, a waitress who worked with Ryan at the restaurant. But that was just a fantasy sequence.
Overall, I’m going to give Black Tie Nights a Chacebook rating of FIVE STARS. Yes, I think the Cooper/Ryan and Olivia getting over her Late husband subplots dragged on a bit too long, but it had a good regular cast, lots of good guest stars, and 3-4 hot sex scenes per episode. So I have to recommend it for softcore fans.

P.S. Up until I started reviewing this series, I thought it was just this one season. But I’ve found out that it returned a year later, relaunched with a new title called Hollywood Sexcapades, although IMDB credits it as Black Ties Nights season 2. All I know is that neither Amy Lindsay nor Tiffany Hendra returned, although Glen Meadows did, along with Beverly Lynne, who began a series regular (the two of them would get married in real life a year after that). When I have time, I will get that series and review it as well.
