Lady Chatterley’s Stories: A FEW MOMENTS IN TIME

SUSAN FEATHERLY

Written by R. Lord and directed by George Ayvas, this episode stars Jarod Carey as Matthew, Lady Chatterley’s hairdresser. The man could be described as a hopeless romantic. He doesn’t believe in casual sex. He only has sex with women whom he thinks there’s a possibility that he could have a serious relationship with because without the possibility of love, he doesn’t find satisfaction. Nevertheless, the episode opens with him having sex in his apartment with his ex-girlfriend Caroline, who is played by Angela Grant.

Afterward, as Caroline gets dressed, he tells her he can’t do this anymore. They broke up two months earlier but were still getting together for sex. Caroline argues that this is a perfect arrangement, but Matthew isn’t satisfied with it anymore since there’s no hope for them getting back together. So she storms out.

Matthew then goes to Lady Chatterley’s mansion for a dinner party. He arrives at the same time as another guest, Sharon (Susan Featherly). This is the first time he and Sharon meet, and Lady Chatterley (Shauna O’Brien) introduces them. Sharon is her real estate lawyer who has helped her buy several properties (I’d forgotten from the show’s official description that Lady Chatterley’s actual job is that she’s a land broker, as it’s never a factor in the series). Lady Chatterley thinks Sharon should let Matthew do her hair too. Lady Chatterley tells them that the other two guests have canceled, so it’s just the three of them. We later see Matthew and Sharon having drinks by the fireplace and discussing their past relationships. Sharon is also recently out of one, but they have different opinions on love and sex. When Sharon is ready to leave, Lady Chatterley asks Matthew to walk Sharon to her car. The next scene shows Matthew at Sharon’s apartment, where they have sex while standing up against the wall.

Afterward, they talk about what just happened. And while Matthew is clear that he’s hoping this is the start of something serious, she’s still not ready for anything more than casual. Nevertheless, Matthew doesn’t let that stop him, and they have sex again, this time on her couch.

The episode jumps ahead one month, with Matthew and Sharon having dinner in a restaurant. Even though they’ve been seeing each other regularly, and Matthew has even given Sharon a key to his apartment, Sharon is still unwilling to commit to anything seriously when the subject of their future comes up. Dejected, Matthew goes home alone.

Soon, Caroline shows up with a box of some of his stuff that she had said he had left at her place. She then confesses that she’s changed her mind about Matthew and wants to get back together. The two of them then have sex on his couch and then fall asleep in each other’s arms.

Sharon comes by later, using her key to get in, and sees Matthew lying on the couch with Caroline. She and his eyes meet, and she leaves and goes to Lady Chatterley’s place.

Lady Chatterley points out that Sharon has no right to complain, as she’s the one who’s been refusing to commit to Matthew all this time. Sharon knows she’s right, and when Matthew shows up, Lady Chatterley leaves to let them talk alone. Sharon says that seeing him with another woman made her realize how much she loves him, and asks him to “go steady” with her. He says yes, and the two of them have sex on Lady Chatterley’s house. So now everyone’s happy!

Well, except for Caroline, I guess, but who cares about her?

The story could have been a little better, but it was a good cast. I have always liked Susan Featherly, and Jarod Carey is a solid actor in everything I’ve seen him in. And the fact that we get five full sex scenes, which are all great, is a plus. I can give this episode a Chacebook rating of FIVE STARS.
