This book is a collection of three separate novellas, all with recurring characters plus one bonus short story, written by Shoshanna Evers.
The main trilogy tells the developing story of the relationship between Blake, a young college student who works as a waiter in a Diner, and Victoria, an older woman who works as a book editor and part-time dominatrix. One night Victoria comes into Blake’s diner and he serves her, but he is so unnerved by her commanding presence that he doesn’t do a very good job. So instead of a tip she leaves him a card saying that he deserves to be punished, and to give her a call if he wants that.

As it turns out, Blake has long had a secret desire to be dominated by a woman. So with great nervousness he calls Victoria and makes arrangements to go to her apartment one night. The first story, SPANKED, describes what happens that first night. She makes him strip fully nude in front of her, then get down on his hands and knees and crawl like a dog. I’m not really interested in reading about that, so I quickly skimmed past to the end of the story. The main significance of this character’s introduction is that it alerts Blake to the reality of a married couple having the same type of dominant/submissive arrangement that he has with Victoria, and this makes him desire to make his relationship with Victoria permanent.

In the finale story of this series, COLLARED, it’s 6 months later, and Victoria and Blake enter into an official relationship, with Blake moving in with Victoria after signing a contract that stipulates her “ownership” of him. And this is symbolized by her putting a collar around his neck (which he wears around the apartment with nothing else on). To celebrate their new arrangement, Victoria invites another couple, a dominant male named Tom and his submissive female slave, Sandy. Sandy is forced to like Blake’s asshole. Then Blake is laid down on the floor as Sandy sits on his cock while Victoria sits on his face. Then Sandy is forced to spank Blake. Okay, first, I could have done without the male/male stuff. Just not my scene. But overall I thought that the development of the relationship between Blake and Victoria over time was very well written. Evers does a great job in showing all the conflicting emotions that Blake is feeling over time, as even he doesn’t quite understand why pain and humiliation turns him on like it does. We also get some insights into Victoria’s mind as well, as see how much everything she does to Blake turns her on, and how over the course of the series she surprisingly finds herself becoming attached to him, and therefor occasionally worries if she’s pushing him too far too fast with some of her punishments, and risks him wanting to quit. It’s very interesting, in a way these two are written like any average couple developing a relationship, except that this particular relationship happens to include bondage a sexual torture…

The bonus story is called TAPE. It’s a man and woman in a business office acting out a rape fantasy, where he pretends to take her into the supply room and have his way with her. The story felt out of place in this book. It’s called Dominatrix fantasy, meaning people who buy this want to read about women dominating men, not the other way around.

So other than the male/male stuff, and the incompatible short story, this volume, for it’s collection of Spanked, Denied, and Collared, still earns a Chacebook rating of FOUR STARS
