Here it is, the 5th and final issue to this epic sci-fi action revenge miniseries from Mark Millar and Matteo Scalera.

Yeah, this issue was published in November 2019, I’m late, sue me.

I have to say that Millar closes this series out with a bang, well, multiple bangs to be exact. This has to be the most action-packed issue (and that says a lot for this series), giving Scalera the chance to really show off his skills in drawing exotic scenes with unique-looking aliens, spaceships, and laser gunfights. We learn the details of Cody, Thena, and Viggo’s plan to steal the Princess’ fortune and escape to another planet. I’ll just say that they succeed despite multiple things going wrong in the process.

When they reach the rendezvous world, Kaiser Crow arrives and the ladies find out about Viggo’s treachery. For the record, I was wrong in that did not know all along…at least not exactly. Thena totally believed him, and therefore is angrier than ever when she finds out the truth. But thankfully for her, Cody had a backup plan, just in case.

There are a couple of twists and turns before the book finally ends, and our heroes get their happy ending…or do they?

This was a good, fun, series, with two likable leads (despite being criminals). The dynamic between Cody and Thena was well-written, they’re sort of like Thelma and Louise. The different worlds, alien races, and starships we encountered along the way hint at a wider universe that I hope to see explored further, and Matteo Scalera was the perfect artist for this tale.
