Picking up from the previous issue, Sharkey, Juda, and Extra-Billy manage to capture Edra Deering, thanks to the tracker that Sharkey planted on her. They find themselves approaching the HQ of the leaders of the United Worlds. They’re all excited to be collecting their billion-dollar bounty. But then Edra reveals that neither she nor the people who run the United Worlds are what they appear to be. I don’t want to spoil too much, I’ll just remind you of the phrase: one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.
This new information leads Juda to reconsider her desire to turn Edra in, but Sharkey initially can’t see anything other than all the money he’s set to make. But as Juda continues to try to convince him, they stop on a random moon to think it over. And it’s in that H, the rival bounty hunter from the second issue, shows up with his men and steals the Edra and the Snow Cone, and we end with another dramatic cliffhanger.
The revelations about Edra are interesting and introduce a new wrinkle to this story, although knowing Mark Millar’s work I suspect that there’s still another twist or two coming regarding her background. We’re also introduced to the concept of a horny sentient asteroid that I don’t think we’ve seen the last of. And I’m still loving Simone Bianchi’s artwork.
