Here’s a softcore film from 2010. It’s from MRG Entertainment & is directed by Jay Robie, who only has this one film credit listed on IMDB which makes me suspect that’s a pseudonym, and no writer is listed.

Isabella Sky and Reena Sky (no relationship) play college students and roommates Carrie and Megan. Needing extra credit, Carrie is eager to join the class of a new psychology professor, Max Carlton (Jack Lawrence), and she’s not above seducing him to get in. It works, and it turns out that Prof. Carlton is running some kind of experiment where he has a machine that he can hook people up to while they’re sleeping to make them share dreams…and of course, have sex in them.

The professor asks Carrie to find him more student volunteers, so she convinces her friend Amber (Melissa Jacobs) and Kyle, Megan’s boyfriend (played by Rocco Reed aka Joshua Broome) to sign up. We see them have sex in the dream, and afterward Kyle feels guilty because it felt like cheating on Megan, although it wasn’t real.

The professor himself tries out the experiment with both Carrie and Amber separately, and at one point Kyle, Amber, and Carrie all share a dream. Then when Megan finds out what’s going on, she gets mad and insists on trying it with the professor herself. Then everybody makes up and Carrie turns the professor into the police to get arrested for…something. I’m not even sure what. THE END.

This premise had potential. People having sex in their dreams, where it feels real but it isn’t, and how that affects their relationships and friendships, could have been a really interesting and dramatic story. But it’s not really explored here. Carrie’s motives are questionable from the start, I can’t tell if we’re supposed to sympathize with her or not, and I’m also not sure why the professor is the bad guy. It’s a shame because with a little more effort, this script could have been much better.

So I’m giving this film a split rating. For the story, it gets just THREE STARS.

The thing that saves this film is the sex scenes. All of the actors in this film were also hardcore pornstars, and hardcore performers tend to be good when it comes to softcore (I guess they’re used to doing it for real so much, that they know how to fake it). There are 8 altogether.
