LINGERIE season 2, episode 4: Worse for the Wear

Written by Anthony L. Greene and directed by Christopher Warre Smets, this episode opens with Vanessa (Lana Tailor) waking up in bed with Rena (Albina Nahar), after having sex for the first time the night before. Rena asks Vanessa if Hugh will be mad when he finds out, and Vanessa says he’ll be mad “that we didn’t ask him to join us.” And then they have sex.

Now, as hot as Lana’s sex scenes tend to be on this series, this one I found a little odd, as they start off doing the typical scissor motion that you see in softcore g/g scenes, but then Rena gets on top of her in the cowgirl position. But…what is she riding on? I’m pretty sure that Vanessa doesn’t have a penis, so this position doesn’t work for lesbians. I guess we’re to assume that Vanessa is wearing a strap-on dildo? Whatever.

Jason (Michael Murray Scratch) is moving his stuff into Lacey’s loft/studio, just as Vanessa and Rena are leaving the bedroom. This is the first Vanessa hears about Jason moving in with them (seriously, Lacey never asked or even just told her before this? That’s rude), but Vanessa is cool with it and just says “catch you later, roomie.”

Lacey (Jennifer Korbin) seems a little upset when Jason reveals that he’s not actually giving up his apartment in Manhattan, he’s keeping it as his photography studio. But I assume she’s taking it as a sign that he’s not fully committed to her. We’ll see how this develops in future episodes.

Cody (Marcus Colby) comes to Lacey’s studio and starts fixing a lightbulb in the ceiling right in front of Stephanie’s (Erin Brown) desk, as she tries to ignore him. Then he gets a phone call from some girl and starts to make a date with her, right in front of Stephanie and she gets upset. But he taunts her that she was the one who broke up with him, so she shouldn’t expect that he wouldn’t move on, and she stands up in frustration and announces that she’s quitting her job.

Lacey and Jeffry (Geoff Stevens) try to talk her out of it, but she says her breakup with Cody is just the latest thing that’s been bothering her. She apologizes for leaving them in the middle of trying to fulfill this big fashion order, but she’s made up her mind to leave, but she agrees to get drinks with them later to continue to talk about it.

Giovanna (Amber Smith) stops by Lacey’s studio, Jeffrey is starstruck, and she once again tries to convince Lacey to team up. Seeing that Lacey has still been unable to secure a loan to pay for Sebastien’s order, she offers to finance Lacey for it. Lacey is tempted but remains non-committal for now. Later Giovanna meets with Richard (Richard Roy Sutton) and gets him to approach and sign Cody to an exclusive modeling contract. She’s clearly got something devious in mind for him. Richard announces his plan to make a play for Nicole (Noelle DuBois), and Giovanna is fine with that, which answers the question I had in episode 2 about whether or not she and Richard are monogamous.

That night at the bar, Stephanie tells Lacey and Jeffrey that she’s flying back to Cleveland, where her family lives, and they reluctantly wish her well. Cody comes by, and when he finds out she’s leaving, he tries to talk her out of it. But Richard shows up with the contract offer, which of course distracts Cody, so Stephanie just gets in a cab and drives off.

Now this is a development that I did not see coming. I checked Erin’s IMDB and (SPOILER ALERT, I guess) she is off the series, at least for the next 7 episodes of this season. She’ll return in episodes 12 and 13. So I predict that she and Cody will reunite in the end, as I said last episode when they broke up, but Cody is likely going to go through a lot before she returns.

I want to point out that Joanne (Emily MacLeod) is in this episode, she doesn’t have any lines but we see her serving drinks at the bar. I mentioned this because, as a reader on Reddit pointed out, Joanna’s whole arc in season 1 was her trying to become a model, and she did participate in Lacey’s big fashion show in the finale, so why is she just working in a bar now? I have to assume that they brought her character back this season for a reason because they could have just written her out rather than put her in this small role, so I’ll be curious to see what plans they have for her character as the season progresses (and checked her IMDB, she is set to appear in all the remaining episodes).

In addition to the opening lesbian scene, we get a sex scene between Marilyn (Denise Cobar) and Cormac (Sean Kaufman, and one between Hugh (Michael Slade) and Nicole. All hot stuff, making this another good episode. Chacebook rating: FOUR STARS
