Beverly Hills Bordello: DRAWING THE LINE

Written by George Ayvas and directed by Robert Angelo, Drawing The Line is the 8th episode of the first season of Beverly Hills Bordello and stars The Late, Great Nikki Fritz as Paige, a veteran escort at the bordello.

Jonathan Shank plays Doug Channing, Paige’s longest regular customer. He’s said to be around 40 years old and has been coming to see her every other Thursday for the past 4 years, except for Thanksgiving and Jewish holidays. His particular kink is that when he comes to see Paige he likes to do roleplay, where the two of them act out a scene pretending to be other people before they have sex. These scenes tend to have the theme of him playing a man who is being seduced by an aggressive woman. In the opening of the episode, we see their latest appointment, where Doug is playing a businessman and Paige is his secretary. He’s dictating a letter to her as she takes notes with a pen and a pad, but he keeps getting distracted by her legs (as she’s wearing a skirt). She notices that he’s checking her out and confronts him, makes him admit that he wants to make love to her, and then they do it on a loveseat in the room.

Afterward, as he’s getting dressed and she’s casually laying naked on the loveseat while smoking a cigar, she asks him about what kind of roleplay he’s going to want during their next appointment (saying “next week” even though they’d just established that their routine is every other week), he acts a bit vague, and like he wants to say something to her, but doesn’t and just says he’ll let Veronica know.

The next week comes, and Paige asks Veronica (Nicole Gian) if she’s heard from Doug yet, because she needs time to prepare for whatever role he wants to play before he comes in, but Nicole informs Paige that Doug has booked an appointment with another girl instead. Paige is upset to hear this, especially because the other girl is only 23, which makes Paige feel like she’s getting replaced because she’s getting old.

I”ll note that they never say how old Paige is, but Nikki Fritz was 33 when this episode was filmed. Veronica tries to get her to not take it personally, pointing out that clients switch girls all that time, and the fact that Doug stayed with one girl for 4 years was already unusual. But it’s still quite a hit to Paige’s ego. In this conversation it’s revealed that Nicole used to be an escort too, but got out at the ripe old age of 27, to switch to being a Madam instead.

Daneen Boone plays Donna, the other escort. Paige goes to her room to see her, under the guise of giving her advice on how to do the roleplay that Doug wants (he’s going to play a shy young college student going to see a French prostitute). Donna is sitting on a seat in her room wearing nothing but a bra as she rubs lotion on her legs. As they talk, Paige slips Donna’s bra off and starts rubbing lotion on Donna’s breasts from behind. This leads to what may very well be the sexiest girl/girl scene I’ve ever seen in a softcore production.

The two ladies go at it on the seat, with lots of breast-licking and deep kissing, for about 5 minutes. Then the scene switches to the two ladies sitting on the edge of a bathtub, as they talk, with Paige telling Donna about how Doug left her, and then they start making out again for about another 3 minutes. It’s an AMAZING scene altogether, and that alone makes this one of my favorite Beverly Hills Bordello episodes.

I think a major reason that the scene works so well is because of the contrast between the ladies. You have the brunette Nikki with her voluptuous body, including large fake breasts, and the petite blonde Daneene with her small natural breasts. And although Daneene was actually 29 at the time of this episode, only 4 years younger than Nikki, she looks like an innocent younger woman compared to the mature experienced Nikki, which helped sell the scene.

The final act of the episode shows the plot twist. Doug arrives for his appointment with Donna, but Paige tricks him. She manages to get him to put on a blindfold before she enters the room, so he doesn’t know it’s her instead of Donna, and proceeds to act out the role of the French prostitute (using her convincing accent, so he doesn’t recognize her voice) and proceeds to seduce him, first by blowing him while he’s standing against the wall, then getting him to lie down on the bed and let her tie his wrists to the bed-posts. Then she gets on top and rides him in the cowgirl position, but just as he’s approaching his orgasm she stops moving and takes off his blindfold, revealing herself to him.

Doug is naturally shocked, and Paige explains how she was hurt by the shitty way he ended things. He apologizes and says that as long as she’s there they might as well finish what they started. But she tells him that she’s just officially resigned, puts her dress back on, and walks out the room, leaving him tied to the bed, sexually frustrated, presumably with a full erection. “You can’t leave me like this,” he moans.

That’s funny.

Okay, technically, Paige is totally in the wrong here She’s acting like a spurned lover but, even with the length of time he’d been seeing her, it was strictly business. He was a client, he didn’t owe her anything. The main point of paying a prostitute in the first place is to avoid these types of emotional conflicts.

Or so I’ve heard…

But like said this is one of my favorite episodes of the series, it just all worked. Chacebook rating: FIVE STARS
