I’m not generally a fan of Country music, but I always loved Kenny Rogers. I never really thought of him as a “country singer” he was just…Kenny Rogers. My mother was a fan of his, so his music was played often throughout my childhood, along with Dolly Parton’s music, so his songs remain part of the soundtrack of my life.
He passed away this weekend, of natural causes, at the age of 81. He lived a long life and brought a lot of entertainment and a lot of smiles to a lot of people, including myself. He is an icon who will never be forgotten. R.I.P.
