Written by Anthony L. Greene and directed by Trevor Cornish, this episode picks up the following day after the ending of episode one. Lacey (Jennifer Korbin) wakes up in bed with Jason (Michael Murray Scratch), and he has to get up to leave to catch a plane for a bikini photo shoot in Bermuda. There’s an awkward moment when Jason walks out to the kitchen and finds Vanessa (Lana Tailor) lounging on the couch in nothing but her panties. Lacey seems more uncomfortable with this than Vanessa does, almost looking like she’s jealous. However, when Jason leaves she has a conversation with Vanessa in which she insists that she’s happy with their situationship.
The running theme of this episode is how much Lacey’s business is failing. She’s dodging phone calls from creditors at home and in the office. But she gets a tip from her friend Marilyn (Denise Cobar) about some businessman who wants to work with her, so she meets with him, a man named Ian (Kevin Hurst), and brings a bunch of sketches of her latest lingerie designs with her. Ian seems impressed with the sketches she’s brought, but he says he has to check with his boss first and wants to take the sketches to her. Lacey isn’t comfortable letting someone take her designs, but Marilyn convinces her to do it.
Vanessa was complaining about the air conditioning not working in her and Lacey’s apartment, which is really hot, so Lacey calls in Cody (Matt Fitzgerald) to come to fix it. He arrives with Joanne (Emily MacLeod) and gives Vanessa the key to his apartment so she can hang out there while he works on her AC. After he gets it fixed, or so he thinks, he and Joanne have sex. But while they’re doing it, the AC machine catches fire, and they have to call in the fire department.
And that’s basically the episode. I have to say, I only found this episode a little better than the first one. So far I’m just not caring about any of the characters or what’s going on with them. The fact that Lacey is so concerned about Ian taking her sketches pretty much telegraphs that she’s going to be correct and that Ian has some kind of ulterior motives. It’s also obvious that there’s more going on between her and Jason, just neither of them want to admit it, so I can guess how this storyline is eventually going to play out, with the two of them declaring their love for each other, although there will obviously be some conflict before that. It’s possible Jason may hook up with Vanessa. Chris Smits plays Rick, a fireman show shows up at Lacey and Vanessa’s apartment, and there’s some light flirting there, so I suspect he’ll be back.
So far there doesn’t seem to be any reason for Vanessa’s presence. We do get a hot scene where she called her ex Josie (Mia Presley) on the phone and the two of them have phone sex, where we see them each naked and playing with themselves as they talk to each other. But other than that, she doesn’t do anything but react to other people.
Erin Brown and Geoff Stevens return on this episode as Lacey’s employees Stephanie and Jeffery. But Stevens is so over-the-top stereotypical “gay” that I just found his character annoying.
In addition to the aforementioned phone sex scene, and the scene between Fitzgerald and MacLeod and there’s a shower sex scene with Korbin and Scratch. The scenes are all hot and well-shot, but if the stories don’t get better, it’s not really worth it.
