Written by Sandy Travis and directed by Christopher Warre Smets, this episode has Lacey take the suggestion that Cody gave her in the previous episode, to hold a lingerie party, where people will come for a private lingerie show and can buy the lingerie, which is from Lacey’s previous fashion lines.
Cody and Russ have convinced 5 women they know to come to the party to model the lingerie for free. Joanne (Emily MacLeod), Cindy (Veronika London), Sheryl (Alyson Bath), Francine (Heather Vandeven), and Maddy (Elyse Genevieve). There’s a little tension when the women meet up at the studio and realize that most of them have slept with either Cody or Russ, but Vanessa smooths things over, convincing them that the important thing is the opportunity for their careers. So the ladies go to Cody’s bar to party.
While at the bar, Francine realizes that she can’t make the party, because she has a friend’s wedding to attend. And then she and Vanessa go into the bathroom and have sex.
Stephanie convinces Doug (Josh Logan), the model agency chief who she slept with in episode 9, to come to the party and talk to the models, pretending like he might be interested in signing them. And then they have sex.
We see Lacey in bed the night before the party, working on her sketches, when Rick joins her. They end up having a fight, as Rick complains about her working so much, he dismisses her work as a “hobby”, and says he doubts they have a future if she can’t pay more attention to him, and ends up leaving.
This came out of nowhere. Rick’s been nothing but supportive of Lacey and treating her well since they started dating, now he’s just suddenly a jerk. It feels like a cheap way to end Lacey’s conflict about whether she wants to be with Rick or Jason.
The lingerie party is a success. Afterward, Cody meets Stephanie outside, with his guitar. He sings her a song that he wrote for her and says he wants to be with her, to which she agrees.
Cody tells Maddy that he wants to be serious with her, and they have sex.
Jason asks Marilyn to come to his place, and he gives her a big check of some money he got years ago for some photography award and says he wants her to give it to Lacey for her business but not tell her that it’s from him (because Lacey is still not talking to him).
So overall this was a better episode than before, at least it focused mostly on the lingerie business. And the Lana Tailor/Heather Vandeven scene is amazing. Chacebook rating: FOUR STARS
