Beverly Hills Bordello: REUNION

Written and directed by Robert Angelo, this is the 5th episode of Beverly Hills Bordello season 1. Clay Greenbush stars as Jack Jamison, a regular customer of the bordello. He shows up one night and Veronica (Nicole Gian) greets him and tells him she’s got a new girl for him to meet, and sends him upstairs to the new girl’s room. When Jack gets there he’s surprised as he recognizes her, she’s Missy Allen, someone that he went to high school with. Tracy Dali plays Missy. She doesn’t recognize Jack at first until he tells her their history.

Side-note: No ages are given for each character but, according to IMDB, Tracy was 30 and Clay was 28 when this was filmed., so if we assume that Missy and Jack are meant to be those ages, I’d say this tracks. They were in high school together, but he was 2 grades below her, so if she graduated at 18 it’s been 12 years since she last saw him, when he was 16. Thus it makes sense that she didn’t recognize him. Plus it’s revealed in the episode that while she was very popular (Homecoming Queen, captain of the cheerleading squad, and voted Most Likely To Succeed), he was a shy skinny nerd, so I get why he would recognize her despite the passage of time. But I digress.

After a few pleasantries and questions about other former classmates, Missy notes that “the clock is ticking” and tries to initiate sex with Clay, but he tells her that this is all a little too awkward for him, and leaves. He goes home and pulls out his old yearbook, and looks at pictures of her.

Jack goes back the next day, this time ready to get busy with Missy. They have hot sex in a bed, and afterward lay together and continue to reminisce about high school. It’s not sure how much time passes, but we see him with her again, this time they have sex in a bathtub. But this is when things start to get complicated.

Jack sees Missy again and tries to give her tickets to an orchestra that he knows she likes, but she declines, saying that it’s against Veronica’s rules to date clients. He tries to convince her that it wouldn’t be a “date,” they’re just continuing to get to know each other, but she still refuses, and he leaves. Next time he shows up he brings a CD of that orchestra, and they go listen to it in her room. He then brings up the possibility of him helping her get out of the bordello, but she says she likes her job and doesn’t think that there’s anything wrong with it, and this is proof that Jack is getting too close. He gets upset and says they should stop seeing each other and leaves, although she tries to stop him.

The next time Jack goes to the bordello, he picks out another woman (played by Kimberly Blair) and has sex with her in her room. As he’s leaving, he sees Tracy taking another man upstairs, and he is clearly upset at this. The next time Jack goes to the bordello Nicole tells him that Missy abruptly quit the night before. She just packed up all of her stuff and left, and has no idea where she went. She offers to set Jack up with another girl, but he declines.

When Jack gets home, he sees that somehow Missy is in his apartment, waiting for him, and without any words, they have sex.

I enjoyed this episode. First, the story was a bit deep, and the emotional conflict felt real. Clay Greenbush managed to portray his character convincingly. There were a couple of times when he had to convey his sadness silently, and his facial expressions sold it. Tracy Dalis is, well, not quite as good of an actress when it comes to dialog, but she is smoking hot. I remember she was a “Hot Body model” back in the early 1990s, and I think worked with both Playboy and Penthouse. She and Clay had great chemistry together in their sex scenes.

I’ll only deduct a star because I feel like the ending was a little too cliche. I think it would have worked better if she had just left and that was it, instead of her and Clay ending up together. But maybe I’m just not romantic enough?

Still, it’s a good episode. Chacebook rating: FOUR STARS
