CYBER FORCE #11

I’ll just get right to the point, this issue is the best of the series, so far. It turns out that the Stryker and the other’s apparent agreement to stay at CDI last issue was just a ruse to lull the company into complacency. They actually plan to break out, and that plan commences now. But the head of CDI, whom still isn’t named but we see her face, as an ace up her sleeve in the form of continued control over the actions of Aphrodite…or does she?

I can’t really say much more without revealing too many spoilers. All I’ll say is that the action is very suspenseful, with a couple of interesting twists before it reaches the conclusion. This is the first issue in the series that really felt like it was an actual reboot of the original, rather than a whole new series just using similar characters. This is basically Ultimate Cyber Force, with the same type of approach to modernization that Marvel took in creating The Ultimates, and that’s a good thing. I’m really looking forward to seeing where Matt Hawkins and Bryan Edward Hill take this series next, and glad they’ve got a great artist like Atilio Rojo on board with them.

Chacebook rating: FIVE STARS
