This is a softcore series that I’ve been meaning to check out for a while, primarily because it starred Divini Rae, who I loved in Hotel Erotica Cabo, which was created by Gary Dean Orona, who also created this series.

The Erotic Traveler ran for one season of 13 episodes in 2007. Divini Rae plays Marissa Johnson, a successful erotic photographer who owns a studio and art gallery in Utah. In this opening episode, which was written by Stephen Shaw, Marissa is hosting a private showing of her photos. Kaylani Lei plays Allison Kraft, a young photographer who crashes the party to check out Marissa’s art. The two women meet, and Allison reveals that she’s long been a fan of Marissa’s work, but feels that her latest photos are missing something; they don’t capture the passion that she feels Marissa used to capture. The ladies sit down, and Marissa tells Allison a story of a previous encounter that helped her become more passionate about art.

We get a flashback to several years earlier, when Marissa was younger and just starting out. She was in Spain and came across a male sculptor named Hernan, played by Landen Cole. She walks past his studio and sees him sculpting a nude woman named Rosa (Tiffany Taylor). As Hernan molds a lump of clay, he gives Rosa instructions on how to pose for him, eventually getting her to masturbate herself to climax. After Rosa finishes, Hernan reveals that he knows Marissa has been watching him, and he challenges her to join them, but she gets flustered and declines.

The next day, Marissa returns to Hernan’s studio, and he convinces her to join Rosa and pose for him. Marissa is hesitant, but Hernan has a very dominant personality, and eventually the two women are standing naked together and then have sex. When it’s over, Rosa leaves, and Marissa invites Hernana to have dinner with her, because she’ll be leaving Spain soon, but he rudely turns her down. But then later he changes his mind and invites her to join him for dinner, which she does, and they have hot sex in front of a fireplace.

Back in the present, Marissa offers Allison a job as her “resident artist”, which Kaylani accepts. And thus the premise of the show is set up, as these two sexy female photographers prepare to work together. THE END.

Overall, I found this episode kind of slow. The story itself just wasn’t that interesting and it took a while to get to the good parts. Speaking of those good parts, even the sex scenes were underwhelming. The final sex scene with Marissa and Hernan was the only really good one. Divini Rae is a physical Goddess. However, the lesbian sex scene with Marissa and Rosa was just a little kissing, and then it was mostly just the two of them scissoring, which is boring. There was also an opening sex scene where Allison is banging some random guy played by Frankie Cullen, but it was short.

I’m hoping that the show improves as the season carries on, but the first episode only gets a Chacebook rating of THREE STARS.
