Intimate, Funny, Outrageous, Sexy, Instructional, and Shocking Tell-Alls from the Biggest Names in The Biz

Believe it or not, I didn’t buy this book myself. It was given to me earlier this year as a birthday gift from my brother, and I finally just got around to reading it. And it is, almost surprisingly, very interesting. Lainie Speiser, a publicist and columnist who has worked for Penthouse and other Adult Entertainment companies, has compiled a fascinating collection of short essays by porn stars, from all walks of life, women, men, transsexuals, exhibitionists, and those who simply consider working in porn films to be a job just like any other. Longtime veterans who’ve been in the industry for decades, and relative newbies. So we’re getting a wide variety of viewpoints and opinions. Check all of your preconceived notions about porn stars at the door before you read this book. As Speiser says in her introduction:

“This is a book about sex, but it’s also a book about people, some extraordinary people who believe in truly seizing the moment and living their lives to the fullest. It may not be a life that you would choose for yourself, but you will be riveted by their spirit and sense of adventure.”

The book is divided into 6 subjects, with words from porn stars talking about the topic.

1/MY FAVORITE POSITIONS AND PLEASURES
Featuring Angela Aspen, Anju McIntyre, Ashley Steel, Brea Lynn, Catalina Cruz, Eric John, Evan Seinfeld, Felicia Fallon, James Deen, Jamie Lynn, Kayden Kross, Mary Carey, Mia Isabella, Mr. Marcus, Nevaeh, Nick Manning, Peter North, Priya Rai, Ron Jeremy, Stoya, Taryn Thomas, Taylor Wane, Tera Patrick, Travis Knight, Valentina Vaughn, and Veronica Hart.

There didn’t seem to be any general consensus about the best position, it’s all a matter of personal preference. I thought it was funny when Angela Aspen says that if she picks doggy style, it’s because the man is ugly, so she doesn’t want to have to look at him. She also talks about an embarrassing incident where she hooked up with a guy she met through Myspace, but when he came over he said something smelled bad, and it was because she was on her period. Eric John and Evan Seinfeld both discuss the importance of men shaving their balls (NO THANKS). And James Deen claims he can find ANY woman attractive. Mary Carey (whom I’ve recently enjoyed watching in THE BIG BUST THEORY), says she’s had the best sex in her life with her husband, the first man she’s ever done anal with, and whom she likes to dominate her. And Peter North says that the secret to his legendary “volcanic” cum shots is taking Vitamin E capsules and drinking lots of water, while Ron Jeremy brags about never using Viagra or any other sexual enhancement drugs.

2/SWINGING COUPLES: ME, MY HUSBAND, AND OUR GIRLFRIEND
Featuring Alexandra Silk, Daisy Layne, Dick Chibles, Gina Lynn, Lexxi Tyler, Luc Wylder, Lux Kassidy, Raylene, and Sinnamon Love

Some of these couples are full-on swingers, who go to swing clubs and switch with other couples. Others are just couples where the woman is bisexual, so she’ll bring in other women for them to have threesomes with. But they all seem very happy with it. The key to making these arrangements work is honesty, and not keeping any secrets from your partner.

3/GETTING IT ON WITH OTHER PORN STARS

This is primarily about these stars discussing their various experiences on porn sets, how they try to make it enjoyable, and how they prepare for it. One thing I was surprised to learn is that many female stars still perform while on their periods, using “makeup sponges” shoved in their vaginas to stop the blood. Alexis Amore says she uses “sea sponges” and water douches because it’s more natural. I just assumed they wouldn’t film on those on those days but, well, I guess they don’t want to miss out on the money. So you do what you gotta do…

4/WHY I’M GENDER FRIENDLY
Featuring Allie Haze, Bridgette B., Charlie Laine, Cherry Ferretti, Jana Jordon, Janessa Brazil, Lela Star, Lizz Tayler, Melissa Jacobs, Sophia St. James, Stormy Daniels, Tanya Tate, Veronica Ricci, and Zoe Britton.

“Gender friendly” means “I like to have sex with other girls,” and these ladies talk about their same-sex experiences, and what they like about it. Charlie Laine talks about the time she performed at Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro’s joint Bachelor/Bachelorette party, made out with Carmen, and was asked to come home with them for a threesome. But then Carmen got too drunk, so it didn’t happen. Bummer.

5/THREESOMES: WHEN MORE IS BETTER
Featuring Angelina Valentine, Anne Marie Rios, Bree Olson, Darenzia, Joanna Angel, Julia Ann, Kagney Linn Karter, Kayla Paige, Kelly Divine, Lisa Ann, Misti Dawn, Olivia O’Lovely, Renee Perez, Robin Byrd, Sunny Leone, and Tabitha Stevens.

This title is self-explanatory. A discussion of threesomes, two women and one man or one woman and two men, both on and off-screen. Lisa Ann, probably my favorite current porn star, talks about she learned to talk dirty by calling phone sex lines until she racked up a $5k phone bill one month. She also says her favorite film ever is the interracial 4-some she directed called BASES LOADED.

6/HOW I GO FROM FUN AND FLIRTY TO DOWN AND DIRTY
Featuring Alia Janine, Aria Giovanni, Breanne Benson, Brittany Andrews, Heather Vandeven, Jade Vixon, January Seraph, Jesse Jane, Justine Joli, Kitty Von Dolce, Marie Madison, Mia Presley, Nikki Benz, Nina Mercedez, Phoenix Marie, Sabrina Maree, Sophia Santi.

This is a more generalized chapter, to close out the book, with stars talking about the more kinky things they do. Talk of straps, role-playing and choking, spitting, getting rough, etc. Heather Vandeven (whom I’ve enjoyed watching in softcore films like Housewives From Another World and Bikini Jones & The Temple of Eros) talks about a time her boyfriend tried to get her to lick his cum off the bathroom floor, but she said it was demeaning, so he did it himself to prove that it wasn’t. That’s a bit much for me. Justine Joli talks about an 8-hour sex session she had with her boyfriend…I repeat, EIGHT HOURS, during which she had 15 orgasms. Dang, I wanna know what vitamins THAT guy was taking!

All in all, this is a fascinating collection of stories. If you need some light reading for your spare time, go ahead and pick up this book. Although you might not want to leave it on your coffee table when guests come around…
